BUSINESS GUIDES

Before your website goes live

A practical website launch checklist for small business owners.

All guides

Start with the action you want visitors to take

A visitor should be able to understand what you offer and how to take the next step. Decide whether the main action is a WhatsApp enquiry, a phone call, a booking, or a purchase. Make that action easy to find without filling the page with competing buttons.

Prepare the content you actually need

Collect your logo, business details, service descriptions, product photographs, and approved pricing. Use images you own or have permission to use. For an online store, prepare product names, variants, stock information, delivery details, and clear product descriptions.

Check the whole journey on your phone

Read the page on a small screen, open the menu, and try every contact link. Check form labels, error messages, and the message that opens in WhatsApp. If the site accepts orders, test the catalogue, cart, and checkout through the provider’s approved testing process.

Know what happens after launch

Confirm who controls the domain, hosting, and website accounts. Record what the plan covers, when renewals fall due, and what support includes. Arrange backups and decide who will keep prices, products, and business information current.

Give search engines a clear starting point

Check that important pages are publicly accessible and use accurate titles and descriptions. Make sure the sitemap lists the correct live URLs. Search Console can help you inspect access and request indexing, but submitting a URL does not guarantee inclusion or a position in results.
